Wow ... I just never knew...

I dunno why but I got it in my head I wasn't gonna like Swat 4 and never bothered trying it or even reading any reviews or nothing!!! I was exposed to it for the first time this past weekend and all I have to say is I WAS WRONG! I really like the game.

It's a typical FPS, and guess what? your SWAT! We played your typical cops vs terrorists, but there is no bomb (least noth in the mode I played, sorry CSers). You got your typical pistol and rifle setup, but some of the other equip is cool like the tazer, smoke and flashbang grenades, explosive door charges, camera to slide under the door, etc. The graphic engine is impressive and the game play is tight, but you do have to get used to no jumping and a some what slow paced walk (it's not too bad but you have to play it for a round or two to get the feel for it), in it's exchange you get LEAN keys(for you know... LEANing... :-P ).

I really like the ARRESTING of the bad guys if you tazer them, and if you too far from a guy you have to look at the clothing to tell a good guy from a bad. The only Sure way is look for either a Blue (swat) or Red (terrorist) reflective bar on their backs. This lead to some great "Oops, I couldn't tell" moments in the game, also for some funny ass comments from the game "... they must be on something, cause their shooting them selves".

Now I haven't played ANY of the single player missions so I can't comment on that. I will warn you that VIP mode kinda sucks, I get it but it's still to complicated to be any fun (Terrorists can't kill the VIP, AT ALL but the VIP has a 9mm ... Seem a bit unfair!!!)

If you haven't even looked at Swat 4 like I did, I recommend you at least check it out! You'll thank me later.
